East New York Farms! grows fresh, organic, and culturally important foods for our community and provides support for others to do the same. We manage urban farms and work with an ever-growing network of gardeners and farmers representing backyard gardens and over 60 community gardens throughout East New York.

East New York Farms is coordinating FREE un-bagged, loose, clean soil and compost deliveries to GreenThumb gardens around East New York, in collaboration with the Office of Environmental Remediation. Material availability is subject to reason.

Share Table

Are you interested in selling your produce at the ENY Farmers' Market, but cannot make it for the hours of operation? Join the Share Table!

While our market season has closed for 2024, we are always looking for local gardeners to join Share Table for our future market season. Share Table will start up again in June 2025.

  • Drop off produce on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-5pm
  • Keep 90% of your profits
  • Feed your community with your locally-grown produce!

Do you need help with tasks in your garden space? Consider participating in our Garden Assistance program with our Youth Interns! Every summer from July through August, our Youth Interns can support your garden space. Check back here in June 2025 for our Garden Assistance Sign up form!

Statewide Funding Opportunities

Food Access Expansion Grant Program from NYS

About: Funding will be awarded to eligible applicants for projects that increase the availability of food, whether through construction of a new retail store, the purchase of equipment to improve food and meals offered, or the creation of a mobile market and more.

Maximum Amount: $250,000-$3,000,000

Application Deadline: November 22, 2024

 

NAP-Ed Community Growers Grant Program from NYS State

About: Community-led growing spaces are collaborative projects on shared open space that produce healthy and affordable fresh fruits and vegetables for local community consumption. This funding aims to support garden-based nutrition education and food production in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible communities to increase the production and consumption of healthy and fresh food.

Maximum Amount: $20,000-$50,000

Application Deadline: December 6, 2024

 

Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Farmers Competitive Grant from NYS 

About: The Department is seeking an eligible entity to administer the $2 million Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Farmer Grant Program, which was funded in the 2022-2023 New York State Budget to assist farmers who face disproportionate social or economic barriers to success.

Maximum Amount: $5,000-$250,000

Application Deadline: December 7, 2024

 

Beginning Farmer Competitive Grant Program from New York Farm Viability Institute

About: new competitive grant program to help beginning farmers build financially sustainable, independent, commercial agricultural businesses.

Maximum Amount: $5,000-$250,000

Mini Grants from New York Soil Health

About: supports soil health related projects, activities, and travel within New York State. The goal is to assist in expanding soil health research, education, and awareness to communities across NYS.

Maximum Amount: $2000

Therapeutic Garden Grants from the National Garden Bureau

About: The National Garden Bureau promotes the health and healing powers of human interaction with plants through a yearly grant program for therapeutic gardens.

Maximum Amount: $3000

Seed Money Challenge from Seed Money

About: The SeedMoney Challenge is a group crowdfunding competition open to any public food garden project located anywhere in the world. Participating projects include youth gardens, community gardens, community farms and food bank gardens. Participants keep 100% of what they raise and compete for challenge grants of $100 to $1000. The more funds a project raises, the larger the grant it qualifies to receive.

Maximum Amount: $1000
