Community Meeting – Help Us Renovate New Lots Library!

Come to our next community workshop and help shape the New Lots Library renovation!

In 2019, Brooklyn Public Library, Arts East New York, and Hester Street began a series of community engagement workshops to reimagine New Lots Library. We last met in early Summer 2022 and we’re coming back together to hear more of what the New Lots community wants to see in their library!

In addition to a comprehensive renovation of this outdated library building, the project will incorporate celebration of African-American heritage, and honor nearby ancestors at the once unacknowledged African burial ground.

So, please join us to:

• Share what we’ve learned so far in this process
• Hear from the architects selected to work on the library renovation
• Contribute your ideas
