Judy Singer 1943-2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Judy Singer. After fighting a long illness, Judy passed away, Sunday, October 17 at the age of 77. Judy was the first Educational Director of our early childhood educational program, the MLE Learning Center.  She played a key role in UCC’s successful grassroots campaign that fought for the creation of publicly funded day care centers in East New York. As the Educational Director, Judy and the staff developed a multicultural pre-school and after-school curriculum that involved entire families in social action. We will honor Judy’s work and dedication at our next Celebration of Struggle.
